Poetry by Jim: She left us
a month has gone by
she’s still gone a way
not a trace nor a lie
it hurts less everyday
no call, text or knock
not a sound she gave
she left us in shock
when she went a way
empty souls at nightfall
left us three all alone
tears seep before they fall
abandoned to the bone
that was then
forty years ago
no answers again
we still don’t know
by Jim McDonald
I’ll check it out. Thanks!

Page four of my blog, about the author, has a short synopsis of my life.

Well… I was so young I had no idea what I was doing. I drank and drugged and often needed my moms help or what ever woman was in my life. There were plenty of times where I was truly an unresponsible parent, however I never left and finally stopped the drink and drug, while they were in their preteens. Some kind of way we all made it through.

God bless you Jim. You are a strong and loving Father. Those two boys will always lol up to you.

Thank you Andy. Jamie and Billy’s mom left us when they were 2 and 4 and I was 23. They are in their forties now. We saw her twice in the following year and not since them.
