I gained two more pounds this morning, that makes nineteen pounds in 2018. Not only does it add to the difficulty of putting my socks on, tying my shoes and buckling my belt so my pants don’t fall down, it’s embarrassing to walk around with a profile like this. If you’re overweight like me, you probably already know the medical complications it can cause the body: heart disease, stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure and joint issues, just to name a few.
I always think about dieting and exercise, but normally that’s as far as it goes. When I saw the extra two pounds this morning on the scale, I immediately made a decision to go back on the Atkin’s Diets. There are other healthier diets and of course I can simply eat better, but if I had the ability eat better, I would have already done it.
As I diet, starting Saturday May 12, I will ask and encourage those of you that are interested, to join me. As we do this together, we can hold each other accountable by private messaging or phone.
Please wish me luck and follow with guiding prayers.

Today marks my 29th year, since I accepted Christ Jesus as my Savoir. Praise God.
I finally converted, ‘Twilight to Son Shine’ into Kindle form. You can find it on the same sales page as my paper back format. The paperback sells for $10. and the Kindle cost is $4.95.
On September the first, I am releasing my second book of poetry called, ‘Life Changes’. I’m going to try and release both forms on the same day, for the same prices as ‘Twilight to Son Shine’
Open-Mic night at Urban Bar-B-Que
I feel my first open-mic night went well. It was at Urban Bar-B-Que in La Plata, MD., behind Panera Bread. I was sandwiched between four musical artist’s. With them present the turn out was standing room only.
I was nervous and under the lights, I perspired more than normal, so that must have been a lot of sweat. Six friends came and three of them brought dates. It was nice to know, that my outing was a source for a date night. Pretty cool…
I opened with a couple of jokes, which relaxed me and made me feel a little more comfortable. Glad people laughed and the jokes weren’t duds. After that I introduced myself and my book of poetry, Twilight to Son Shine, then I read two poems from it, Mom and De’ja’ vu. With sweat dripping in my eyes, I read two more poems from my book, Life Changes, which is due out on September 1, 2017. Those poems were called Deadly Drugs and Blue Bench.
Sales were good, seven more happy customers and their pictures will follow soon. A couple of friends shot videos, when I get them I will post them too.
If you missed the opportunity to watch how nervous I can get, you will have the chance again shortly. Looks like this might be a venue, I want to continue.
Remember the beatniks, I’m bringing them back. Don’t forget to snap your fingers.
