Miscellaneous: Calling all cooks
I put a two pound, boneless Top Pork Loin Roast in my slow cooker an hour ago. This slow cooker is the type that heats on the bottom and sides.

1.87 pounds of Top Loin Pork Roast
I was told to put the fatty side up, so I did. Because of my type two diabetes, I’m not going to add any other food. However, I’m looking for suggestions of spices, timing and any other instructions you might want to share.

Rival Crock Pot, that heats from the sides and bottom.
I will prepare more in the future, so please play along. I did Google it, but personal interaction is precious and the little tips your grandmother taught you is always nice to hear.
Past, present & plans: 12-17-16
Past
I’ll start off reminding you of the Crazy Eight Club, that ended up to date as The Final Four. The first to die was Ronnie, he was the oldest of Ronnie and Dean. The next was Ray, he was the youngest of Clyde and Ray. Then my brother George, he was the youngest of Jim (me) and George.
Remember, all of us were within three years of age. After George, there was only one remaining pair, it was Keith and Ernie. So far we had an older and two younger’s die, so that meant by the numbers the remaining eldest should have gone next. Although, it didn’t happen that way, only God’s plans are executed.
Dean was the next to die in March of 2009, meaning one pair was gone all together. However, he did not die of an accident or suicide. He died from a disease called Amyloidosis, Amy for short.
Amy is a rare disease, where an abnormal protein called Amyloid, attacks any tissue or organ and eventually will break that body part down, till the patient dies. Often the demise can be very painful. There is no cure for it, but it can be slowed down with the right treatment.
A number of Dean’s siblings have died and/or still suffer from this devastating affliction. Please pray for the comfort of Dean’s sister, my cousin, Cheryl.
Present
Two nights ago the temperature dropped to 12 degrees and last night the lowest was 28. Today we had freezing rain till noon. I pretty much hunkered down in my boat going on three days now.
Plans
Move south, 😊

It’s warmer somewhere

How ya like my hat? Burger King hat

Taken in 2012 at Burger King on 301 in La Plata, Md
I followed her out of the lounge, through the city streets and into the park wishing I had a camera.
I sat on the bench behind her, as she stood motionlessly watching hundreds of ducks in and around the pond. To my dismay she finally sat down on the left side of her bench and started feeding them.

September 13, 2015 in Pennsylvania
She was wearing an ugly paper Burger King hat, that didn’t come close to matching her attire. When I finally took the plunge, I stood and awkwardly walked to her right and asked, “May I join you?”
At that moment, sirens from what seemed to be a police chase, echoed off the pond and through the trees and bushes. Instead of answering me she said, “Duck!”
I replied, “Why? I’m not wanted by the police.”
“No. I mean duck,” as she pointed to a baby duck at my feet.
“Oh wow! I never noticed, I was too busy looking at your hat.”
“Only my hat?”

The Rock and Roll McDonald’s in Waldorf, MD gave this hat to me
I grinned and said, “You look nice today.” I have a two McDonald’s hats, but nothing like that one.”

The La Plata McDonald’s on 301 gave this hat to me
“Yeah, I lost a bet to a guy that works at Wendy’s. We all make fun of this stupid hat.”
“What was the bet?”
“I bet him, that he would fail his English test. He passed, so I had to walk to the park in a bikini of his choosing, high heels and this hat.”

A nice photo I got off the internet.
“ I must say, he has a nice eye for fashion,” then I asked her, “Can I get a picture?”
“Of me in my bikini?”
“No, of me in that hat. Can you take a picture of me wearing it?”
She seemed stunned, but said, “Sure.”
