Calling all cooks: chili cheese fries

Calling all cooks: chili cheese fries

Not a big thing, but how would you layer a plate of Chili Cheese Fries?

A: fries, chili then cheese

As you can see, we have cheese on top here.

or

B: fries, cheese then chili

I bought this cockpot last week at a thrift store for $6.96. I put the salt shaker in the picture so you can determine the size of my cockpot. What size do you think it is?

My next project will be Chili. I will shop for the ingredients tomorrow (Sunday) and cook it tomorrow night. I already have 2.25 pounds of burger and I want it spicy, good and spicy.

What I want from All of you; is to tell me how to make it. I know I can call my son (who is a great cook and I will call, text or tag him), ask some friends or Google it (actually I already Goggled it), please give me your personal recipes for my enjoyment. 😊

I want as many of your choice tidbits as possible, so I can mish-mash some of them and eventually have my own.

Note: When my son, Billy, was eight he told me, “Dad we don’t like your cooking.” I’m not sure, but I think I laughed. What did happen for sure though, I bought my oldest son, Jamie, a cook book. He has become an excellent cook and I have enjoyed his dishes for years. That was one of the best books I have ever purchased excluding scripture of course.

Interesting: Calling all cooks, pinto beans

I have two bags of pinto beans, a shank ham bone and some ham fat. I want to slow cook them.

Looking for: what food to add, what spices to add, temperature and times on the different temperatures.

I can probably cut chunks of ham and put them in there too. What do you guys think?

These beans are two years old, does that make a difference?

No Shave November

No Shave November

Me on my houseboat, in October of 2016

I never have been one who shaves on a regular basis, so when No Shave November came along, it was right up my alley.

I didn’t take this picture, I swiped it from the internet

There are several reasons for letting your facial hair grow. The first one’s simple, maybe you want to keep your face warm during the upcoming winter. Next, you might be moving to the mountains and you want to fit in with the Grizzly Bears. Or, how about you’re becoming a hillbilly, but not the Beverly Hillbillies, because you have no oil. Of course we can’t forget the fact that you might not belong to the Dollar Shave Club, It’s got to be cheaper than Wal-Mart.

This picture is about five years old and has nothing to do with the post. I just like it

I promote No Shave November, because it’s a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing attention to men’s health. The money raised goes to cancer prevention, research and education.

We were heading up the mointsins a month ago to find that Grizzly Bear

Prostate, testicular, colorectal, and skin cancers are just a few that I might succumb to. It’s something that I can earnestly get behind, because I’ve already had skin cancer and have an enlarged prostate.

This means I will not shave in November.

Marble, NC trip: Wow! Look at that.

I love taking pictures! At some point I would like to take a photography class to learn more about shadows, bokeh, depth of field and other crap like that. I have no idea what some of the photos I take are, but that’s why they are so special.

Raymond and I heard there was going to be go-cart races on Saturday night. While looking for the entrance, we came across this nice structure.

Earlier that day we came across this odd item. Little hint; behind it, in the distance is a field of grapevines.

At some point during the trip we were in Brasstown, North Carolina, when we saw this piece of plumbing.

The next day we were at a store called Mercier Restaurant in Blue Ridge, Georgia. We were visiting with a friend, Gwyn Dooley, when we found this.

Downtown Coker Creek, Tennessee consisted of an out of business old gas station, visitor’s center and this piece of art.

Just outside of town was the Coker Creek festival, we found out that was the only place to get a bite to eat for miles around.

After finding the food we sat at a picnic table about sixty feet away from a band. To the right of the band was a cool little fire truck serving ice cream.

Behind us was a quaint little elementary school with a very unique roof. I’ve been a carpenter all my life and I spent the rest of the day planning how I would build it.

We all know, if you build it they will come.
